Blackburn Rovers manager Tony Mowbray has dismissed reports linking the club with a move for former England goalkeeper Joe Hart.

Hart has recently found himself short of playing time at Rovers' local rivals Burnley behind fellow England 'keeper Tom Heaton, and could look for a move away in the summer in the search of game time.

According to The Sun, Rovers were considering a loan move for the stopper, but Mowbray has claimed that is not the case.

Speaking to The Lancashire Telegraph about Hart after Rovers' 2-2 draw at home to Swansea in their final game of the season on Sunday, Mowbray said:  “He’s not someone we’ve spoken about so I’m not sure where that has come from, whether it’s agent driven to try and create a story. I’m not sure.

“We haven’t discussed Joe Hart and whether he fits in to our team.

Speaking about Rovers approach to transfers in the summer, Mowbray added:“What I would say is that we won’t sign anyone based on their reputation.”

Rovers are expected to look to strengthen in the goalkeeping area this summer, with out-of-contract Canadian 'keeper having played each of the last four games of the season for the Ewood Park side, with previous first choice stopper David Raya dropping to the bench.
The verdict
I don't think Rovers fans will be too concerned by this.
Hart hasn't been in particularly impressive form when he has featured for Burnley this season, and you don't feel that either side will be too keen to deal with the other, particularly given the claims that Burnley would have to subsidise Hart's wages should he move to Ewood Park.
You also feel that there are other goalkeepers out there who could be more within Rovers' price range.
