Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has told the Lancashire Telegraph that both Jan Paul van Hecke and Scott Wharton should be back available for selection after the international break.
The defensive duo have been sidelined in more recent times, but are now seemingly closing in on their respective returns to action as Rovers look to build on what has been a largely positive start to their Sky Bet Championship season.
Both van Hecke and Wharton are now set to feature in a behind closed doors game during the break, which should give the two players the chance to build up their match fitness ahead of a return to the first team.
Speaking recently about the situation involving the two players, Mowbray was quick to state the following:
“Fingers crossed both of them will be available after the international break and the results will swing back to how they were before the injuries came.”
In addition to awaiting the return of the aforementioned defensive duo, Mowbray has also been left sweating over the fitness of attacker Sam Gallagher.

The forward was forced off with a hamstring injury against Blackpool at the weekend and is now due to have a scan.
The return of these two players will come as a boost for Rovers who have seen their form lack any real consistency of late.
They both add to the defensive ranks and will be making their returns to action at a time when the fixture list is set to become congested.
Blackburn’s defensive issues have been laid bare over the past few games and that is something that is sure to concern Mowbray.
However the manager now has a good break to take stock of recent results and attempt to find a solution moving forwards.
