Blackburn Rovers head into this weekend’s clash with Queens Park Rangers with a lengthy list of injury doubts.

Speaking ahead of the Championship clash, Tony Mowbray offered updates on no less than eight of his playing side.

Several players picked up knocks in the draw with West Bromwich Albion last weekend, and several of them are facing a race against time to be fit for Saturday’s clash at Ewood Park against Steve McClaren’s resurgent side.

Goalkeeper David Raya is a certain absentee having been forced off with a facial injury last week ahead of seeing a specialist at some point this weekend.

Two players who are fit and available again are Ryan Nyambe and Jacob Davenport, both of whom came through an U23s clash unscathed during the week.

It is less positive news for a clutch of other players, meanwhile, with Charlie Mulgrew and Jack Rodwell both doubts having been forced off last weekend, but Mowbray is sure they will be fine come Saturday.

Danny Graham also remains a doubt having suffered a back injury which he is working hard to be ready in time for the match.

Darragh Lenihan, meanwhile, is out of the clash with the London club having not trained this week.

One player who has also failed to train this week is the mercurial Bradley Dack, but Mowbray believes the prolific attacker will be able to feature come the weekend.

The verdict

It never rains it pours, and Blackburn have been hit with a tonne of injury worries ahead of what looks to be a tough fixture with Queens Park Rangers.

Steve McClaren’s men are one of the form sides in the division and will fancy their chances should Rovers have to field a depleted team.

A large chunk of their injured players are all doubtful for the weekend and with Tony Mowbray hopeful they will all be fit, it begs the question, how fit will the actually be?

It will undoubtedly be an interesting game after the recent update on Blackburn’s injury front.
