Blackburn Rovers boss Tony Mowbray has spoken of his admiration for the Cowley brothers and has warned his side are in for a tough game on Saturday.

Rovers go into the game Saturday's after losing 4-2 to QPR last time out, a result which Rovers forward Danny Graham insists they need to put right this weekend.

Their opponents, Huddersfield Town, have enjoyed a run of two wins and a draw, which has seem the Terriers move out of the Championship drop zone after taking ten games to find their first win of the season.

Mowbray's Rovers side sit 14th in the table on 14 points, 6 points better off than their upcoming opponents.

Despite this, Mowbray acknowledges that the lunchtime kick-off will be a tough game but remains optimistic that his side can take all three points on Saturday.

Speaking highly of the Cowley's, Mowbray told the Lancashire Telegraph on Friday: "They are nice lads, we’ve had a lot of conversations with them in recent years, they’ve tried to take a few of our players, they had Scotty Wharton on loan a few times and chased Joe Nuttall for long periods. We played them in pre-season a few years ago."

Discussing how he is viewing Saturday's clash, Mowbray said: "It’s a dangerous game for us. They’re coming on the back of a couple of victories but for us it’s an opportunity at home to find a performance level that’s too much for the opposition to cope with and hopefully get the three points.”

Continuing with his admiration for the Cowley's, Mowbray continued: "I like them, they are articulate, thoughtful, clever and they have a teaching mentality so their team will be very well organised as I’ve seen from their recent games I’ve watched."

It will certainly be a game Mowbray believes his side can triumph in but is keeping his feet well grounded.

The Verdict

Tony Mowbray is right to recognise the Cowley's talent and was very praising with his comments of the duo and their Huddersfield side.

It is important off the back of a result for the manager to boost the confidence in his rank and by stating he believes his side can triumph is a good way to motivate the players wanting to react to the QPR defeat.

His experience as a manager shows when he talks of acknowledging how dangerous Town will be as opponents and that the fixture will provide a tough test for his side.

Rovers have not won at home in over a month since defeating Millwall 2-0 on 14th September, and he will be desperate to give the Ewood Park faithful something to shout about.

Although on the back of two wins, Town could still be vulnerable and this match represents a perfect chance for Rovers to get back to winning ways.

A victory would move Blackburn, for a short time at least, up to 10th in the table with Huddersfield looking to clamber out of the bottom 20 for the first time this season.
