Leeds United continue their preparations for their play-off semi-final second-leg against Derby County on Wednesday, where they’ll be hoping to book their place at Wembley.
The Whites head into the game at Elland Road with a one-goal advantage, as Kemar Roofe’s goal separated the sides in the first-leg.
There certainly seems to be a feel-good factor amongst the Leeds squad heading into the game.
Leeds defender, Tom Pearce took to Instagram to reveal that Kalvin Phillips is in high spirits ahead of the clash against Frank Lampard’s side.
Phillips has been key to the success of this Leeds team this season, and without him, you have to feel that the Whites wouldn’t be in the position they’re currently in.
Wheareas, Pearce has been out on loan with Scunthorpe United this season, but was unable to stop his side being relegated to League Two on the final day of this year’s campaign.
It remains to be seen as to how much of a future he has at Elland Road, especially if the Whites are to win promotion back into the Premier League this season.
It’s good to see Phillips in high spirits ahead of the game.
It’s a season-defining game for the Whites, and they are going to be favourites heading into this one with their one-goal advantage over Frank Lampard’s side.
Without Phillips in the Leeds side this season, there’s no chance that Leeds would be in with a shout of winning promotion back into the Premier League.
