Having finally sealed their place back in the Premier League following their win in midweek, Fulham midfielder Tom Cairney has taken to Twitter to post about the club’s promotion.
The Cottagers have been leading the pack in the Championship for months now and have looked unstoppable at times, with the squad looking well on course for the top flight again.
It’s been more of a matter of when rather than if – and that was finally secured in midweek, as they strolled to a 3-0 win over Preston. They could even end up as second tier title winners to boot.

The player is undoubtedly delighted to be able to have another crack at Premier League football – and his post showing him and the rest of his teammates celebrating their achievement emphasises how much it still means to him and everyone else at the club to get back into the Premier League.
The 31-year-old hasn’t perhaps featured as much as he would like this season, with 23 Championship outings to his name so far with two goals and four assists. He’s been a mainstay in the side since 2015 though and has played in close to 250 games for the club – and now they’re back in the top flight, he’ll want to have another crack at proving himself in the top league.
If he can keep the side up there next season, then it will be a real achievement for the midfielder and the rest of the club.
Fulham were always going to be back in the Premier League next season and with the promotion officially confirmed, most of their players will now have one eye on proving themselves in the top flight in the next campaign now.
They’ll still want to secure the second tier title though, so they won’t be taking their foot off the gas just yet. They have the squad though right now to be able to get that achievement on the board too and then try and stay in the top flight next season.
Tom Cairney is certainly one of those players who will be eager to get going. He may be into his thirties now but he is still performing to a high level every time he gets on the field and will likely continue to play a part going forward.
His gametime hasn’t been as frequent this season but the midfielder has been reliable when needed – and that means he will surely stay on at the club in the summer window.
