Brighton and Hove Albion today completed their first signing of the summer transfer window when they snapped up FC Ingolstadt 04 midfielder Pascal Gross.
Able to play as a central midfielder or roam further forward in an attacking midfield role, Gross will add some quality to Brighton’s ranks as they prepare for their Premier League campaign.
A number of clubs were pursuing the former Germany under-19 international, who has a relegation clause which Brighton have activated to land him for an undisclosed fee.
Brighton have won the race to sign the 25-year-old and they will be hoping that he adjusts well to life in England.
Having played almost 200 times in Germany’s top two tiers of football, the former Hoffenheim and Karlsruher midfielder is now set to pursue his career abroad.
Fans took to Twitter to respond to this news with some mixed reaction.
A few Bundesliga fans sang his praises while Brighton fans offered their views too.
