According to reports from TEAMtalk, Nottingham Forest are among a host of clubs interested in Crewe Alexandra defender Perry Ng.

The Reds could well be playing in the Premier League next season after an impressive campaign thus far, with Sabri Lamouchi seemingly casting one eye on the transfer window already.

TEAMtalk claim that Forest, Birmingham City, Derby County, Bristol City and Charlton Athletic are interested in signing Ng, whose contract at Gresty Road expires at the end of the season.

The Alex captain has produced five assists for Dave Artell's side from right-back this term, helping Crewe fight for promotion in Sky Bet League Two this term.

The defender can also operate as a centre-half, making him a potentially useful signing for any of the reported teams interested, especially on a free transfer.

Forest's defensive performances have played a key part in helping the Reds fight for promotion to the Premier League this term, with Joe Worrall, Tobias Figueiredo and Matty Cash all impressing.

It would take a lot for Ng to get into the team ahead of Cash, and it's likely that he would become a back-up option if he did move to the City Ground in the summer.

Here, we take a look at Forest fans' reactions to this latest speculation, via the Nottingham Forest News page on Facebook...

John Haddow: Why do people jump to conclusions nothing in it, Cash will not leave forest unless he wants to go or a massive bid comes in and it has to be a big offer

Tim Wedgwood: Why are we shopping at poundland when we should be shopping at harrods, promotion = a lot of dollar

Richard Leonard: Tired of seeing us shopping in home bargains.... would be nice to see us buy a little bit better than the last window

Aston Stanley: It's not even the transfer window anymore. And hes at crewe... we need premiership players

Nigel Palmer: great player come on forest snap him up

Louis Jennings: That tells me cash might be off in the summer

Tom Martin: That's not a name
