Leeds United’s crucial fixture against Middlesbrough on Friday night is in doubt because of the heavy snow that has hit Teesside in the past 24 hours.

Most of the UK has been impacted by the weather and Middlesbrough shared a tweet to show the snow covering the Riverside pitch.

Whilst they have undersoil heating and would be able to clear the snow, the safety of the fans means this game may not be played.

Those involved will have to be satisfied that the surrounding areas are safe enough for supporters to get to and from the Riverside and that could be a real issue by Friday night with more snow forecast.

The game is due to be shown live on Sky Sports and is pivotal to both clubs as they look to make a late push for the play-offs.

Therefore, it’s not too surprising to see that Leeds fans weren’t happy at the prospect of the game not going ahead…
