‘Time’s up for Pulis’ – Plenty of Middlesbrough fans react to shock League Cup defeat

Middlesbrough crashed out of the Carabao Cup last night at the hands of lower league opposition.

Tony Pulis’ men had the perfect opportunity to make it to a first League Cup semi-final since they won the competition back in 2004.

But they were unceremoniously dumped out the club thanks to League One Burton Albion courtesy of a 48th-minute strike from on-loan Southampton midfielder Jake Hesketh.

Boro managed just three shots on target all evening in what was an abject display from the home side.

And many of the club’s fans were far from happy after the cup exit, with just as many unhappy with Pulis after the shock result of the quarter-final tie.

There was plenty of reaction on social media immediately after the final whistle that confirmed the 1-0 defeat at the Riverside, with Boro’s supporters not holding back.

With that said, here’s how the club’s fans reacted on Twitter in the wake of their quarter-final cup exit at the hands of the League One Brewers on Tuesday night.
