Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey is expected to undergo a medical with Everton today after the Canaries accepted a bid worth up to £30 million for the 22-year-old, according to a report from The Athletic

The centre-back didn't look out of place in the Premier League last term and was a mainstay in Daniel Farke's side when fit.

He's been a key man once again this term – playing every minute in the Championship so far – but it appears he is set to leave the club as the end of the summer transfer window grows closer.

Everton, Fulham, and Newcastle United have all been touted with an interest in the 22-year-old but it seems the Toffees have won the race.

A report from The Athletic has revealed that the Merseyside club have had a £25 million offer accepted for the player.

That deal could rise to £30 million with add-ons, meeting the valuation that Norwich have held this summer.

It is understood that Godfrey will undergo a medical with Everton over the next 24 hours and that his representatives will not open talks over personal terms with the Premier League club.

Have Norwich City ever loaned out any of these 9 players?

The Verdict

Norwich have done a fantastic job of keeping their squad together following relegation but it appears they're now set to see their second significant departure, after Jamal Lewis joined Newcastle earlier in the window.

Godfrey is a really impressive young defender and losing him will without doubt be a blow but the fee will be a significant boost financially.

Additionally, the signing of Ben Gibson – who joined on loan from Burnley earlier in the window – means the Canaries have a readymade replacement.
