Sheffield Wednesday have had a solid start to the season with a draw and a win from their first two games, and they sit inside the top six at this early stage.

Of course, there's a long, long way to go but Darren Moore will be pleased his side is off of the mark, and also that they beat a play-off rival from last season in MK Dons at the weekend.

Wednesday have a good squad at the moment, too, and they'll be eager to see the likes of Michael Smith add to their quality once he shakes off a niggling injury issue, which has stopped him from making an early splash at the club.

Indeed, he's not been able to get up to full fitness since his arrival from Rotherham United but many believe he'll be a hit at the club once he does get going, and it might not be long until we see that happening.

According to Yorkshire Live, Smith could be back in action in a couple of weeks from now, with them putting forward the Forest Green Rovers match at the end of the month as a potential return date.

The Verdict

Owls fans will hope Smith can hit the ground running once he is in the side, as he is a proven League One goal-scorer.

He's a player that should really boost their promotion hopes, and hopefully once he is fully fit he will not have any further injury setbacks.
