Neil Harris' first home game in charge of Cardiff City ended in victory as Leandro Bacuna's goal was enough to defeat Stoke City 1-0 yesterday evening.
Bluebirds midfielder Bacuna struck the only goal of the game for the hosts with just 11 minutes on the clock at the Cardiff City Stadium, connecting with Gary Madine's deft backheel pass.
It was a rare highlight in a scrappy affair for both sides in the Welsh capital, which saw the home side have just 34% possession, also having five shots fewer than their opponents from Staffordshire.
Nevertheless, the win moves Harris' side up into the top ten in the Championship, just four points shy of the final play-off place currently held by Nottingham Forest. It also brings an end to Cardiff's recent run of two games without a victory.
