Sheffield Wednesday will be hoping to cement their place in the top-six over the coming weeks, and there's real hope they could get promoted back to the Premier League at the end of the season.

It's been a solid season for Carlos Carvalhal and his side, who have been knocking on the door from the off.

They've lost a little bit of consistency at times this campaign but on the whole, if they can remain in the top-six come May, it's been a success.

The difficult work then begins as they try and make their way to the Premier league via the play-offs, which, as we've seen in seasons past has proved tricky for the Owls.

But with those big games certainly on the horizon, there's a number of players in this squad who will be considering their long-term futures at the club.

So with that in mind, here's TWO Sheffield Wednesday stars whose careers are at a real crossroads...

Lucas Joao

It's been a tough season for Portuguese forward Lucas Joao, who has joined Blackburn Rovers on-loan from the Owls in an attempt to get his career back to it's best once again.

But with goals proving hard to come by at Ewood Park and Hillsborough this season, he's the sort of player that will be considering his long-term future at the club this summer.

Sadly, he's not the same class as the likes of Fletcher, Forestieri and Rhodes and it's likely he'll be surplus to requirements when the summer transfer window rolls around.

He should be looking for a new club where he can settle and start scoring once again.

Adam Reach

B

The big-money signing of Adam Reach this summer had plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans excited about the future but in reality, the former Boro man has been a little underwhelming.

He didn't start the 1-1 draw with relegation strugglers Burton Albion and there's still fans wandering whether he is in-fact a left-back or a winger.

If his form fails to pick up over the next couple of months, he could have a decision on his hands.

Does he stick with Wednesday to try and get back to his best or does he find a new club where things could be a little easier right from the off?
