Rotherham United have had a nightmare season, which has consisted of 81 goals conceded, 27 defeats, just four wins and three permanent managers.

The stats aren't good reading for the Millers fans and it appears their destiny is almost sealed as they sit 19 points from safety.

Another damning stat is that the Millers have only picked up a single point on their travels this season, coming in a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town.

Paul Warne will take his men to Molinuex this weekend as they look to secure their first away victory of the season.

With relegation looming, many of the club's players will be left with a big choice to make this summer.

Stay and help rebuild the club? Or, jump ship and find a new team?

This article is going to take a look at TWO Rotherham players who find themselves at a real crossroads....

Danny Ward

Top scorer Danny Ward is someone who will be left with a major choice this summer should Rotherham's relegation be sealed.

The frontman has netted 10 times for the club this season with 9 of those goals coming in the league.

The 26- year-old was subject of numerous transfer bids in the January transfer window however, the club were adamant the former Huddersfield Town man wasn't for sale.

It is likely interest will re-surface in the summer as clubs will surface to pluck the better players from the clutches of the Millers.

Ward has played the majority of his career at Championship level and will no doubt be keen to be plying his trade in England's second tier next season.

Joe Newell

Another player who will find himself at a crossroads this summer is playmaker Joe Newell.

Newell is someone who clearly possesses the quality to remain in England's 2nd tier and may be resistant to making a step down in the leagues, after already experiencing relegation from the Championship once before when playing for Peterborough United.

The 23-year-old is someone with great potential and could be available at a cut price should the club drop into England's 3rd tier.

Newell is arguably one of the Millers’ most influential players and could prove to be a very shrewd acquisition by a number of Championship clubs.
