‘Time to leave’ – Many Birmingham City fans blame one man for Derby County humiliation

Several Birmingham City supporters have taken to Twitter to blame manager Aitor Karanka for their heavy defeat against Derby County on Tuesday night.
It was the second St Andrew’s game in succession that the Blues have conceded four times – with three of those coming in the opening 26 minutes through Krystian Bielik, Graeme Shinnie and Kazim-Richards.
Those three setbacks forced the Birmingham boss to make four half-time changes, but it would be the Rams that scored the next goal through youngster Jason Knight, who completed a 4-0 rout for Wayne Rooney’s team.
As for Blues, it was a fourth defeat in five Championship matches, leaving Karanka’s side just seven points above the relegation-zone heading into the New Year.
16 questions about Aitor Karanka that Birmingham City fans may struggle to get correct – Can you get full marks?
Birmingham have now won just five times under the Spaniard and the pressure appears to be mounting on Karanka following this latest defeat.
Here’s what the St Andrew’s faithful have been saying about Karanka on Twitter after the Derby game – with many calling for the former Middlesbrough manager to be sacked…
Tonight was awful and Karanka should take full responsibility for that pathetic display, however sacking him won’t change anything it’ll be the same with next puppet they’ll throw in the dugout. Bring back the horrible long ball nasty battling Birmingham city football club 💙

Whether you like @Karanka or not. He position is now untenable and he has to leave. I can’t see a way back for him and this team. But who would we have instead? #bcfc #Birmingham #kro #efl https://t.co/oqhVTUjB1M

What the actual hell??? I would say @Karanka has lost the plot, but it’s obvious he never had a plot. Time to leave. We are going from bad to worse and enough is enough.

Tonight was a joke, we were beat 4-0 by a shit Derby team and they were poor so what does that say about us! @Karanka if you are happy with their efforts on the pitch just go now! We couldn't put 2 passes together, you leave Keif on the bench and Toral. Clueless 😠😠

Tactics are all wrong…look at how little has been created chances wise since the start of the season. Play juke up top with one other and hit the front early and get midfielders in support ASAP…at least try and win the bloody game

It’s difficult to watch and patience is waring thin, so why do we persist with two holding and one up top ? Seems to me the game has become about systems when it should be about heart, spirit and decision making . That doesn’t mean “ to run around aimlessly either” Come on Blues!
