‘Time to go’, ‘Thanks for everything’ – Plenty of Tranmere Rovers fans are saying similar things following their side’s latest defeat

Tranmere Rovers slipped to their fifth defeat in six league games on Tuesday night, following a 3-0 home reverse to Doncaster Rovers. 

Other than their recent FA Cup heroics against Watford, Rovers fans haven’t had much to shout out over the past few months and their side are now nine points from safety in League One.

Manager Micky Mellon has been in charge of the club since 2016 and in that time has overseen back to back promotions, taking the club from the National League to League One.

Rovers’ poor form has now stretched to just two wins in their last 15 league games, and Mellon’s side are now without a league victory since 21st December.

Following the full-time whistle last night, some Rovers fans were quick to respond to the latest defeat, with many pointing out it is maybe time for Mellon to step aside.

Despite back-to-back promotions, it seems that plenty of Rovers fans feel it is time for a new man to step into the managerial role at Prenton Park.

Most fans were quick to acknowledge the job Mellon has done at the club, but it is time for a change.
