QPR currently find themselves sitting in 17th place in the Sky Bet Championship table and are very much on the fringes of being drawn into the relegation battle.

Ian Holloway has struggled to get results for his side since re-taking the reigns at Loftus Road and has only secured 3 wins from his 10 games in charge.

Holloway made himself a fans favourite throughout his first spell with the club where he took charge of over 250 games.

It is of course the January transfer window, and Holloway undoubtedly needs to utilise it to revitalise his squad, by adding new faces, and selling on some fringe players.

A overhaul of the squad that he inherited is in order this January, and this article is going to suggest TWO players that the former Blackpool and Plymouth manager should axe from his squad...

Ben Gladwin

One player who could certainly do with moving on from Loftus Road is midfielder Ben Gladwin.

Gladwin has only made a handful of appearances for the club since signing from League One outfit Swindon Town back in the summer of 2015, and has really struggled to force his way into the starting eleven.

The 24-year-old appears to have all the physical attributes needed to cope with the fast paced, physical nature of the Championship, but has struggled to make any sort of meaningful impression when given the opportunity.

The former Reading trainee earned his spurs with numerous non-league teams before making his move to Swindon Town.

While playing for Swindon, Gladwin impressed, netting 11 times in just over 50 appearances for the club.

Abdenasser El Khayati

Another player that Holloway could look to axe from his QPR squad this week is wideman Abdenasser El Khayati.

Khayati followed manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to the club from Burton Albion in the 2016 January transfer window, but has failed to make a real impact at Loftus Road since the move.

The 27-year-old has netted just once in over 20 appearances and the general feeling around the club is that Khayati would be best served furthering his footballing career elsewhere.

The Dutchman impressed when playing for Burton Albion in League One, where he netted 11 times in 42 appearances and it appears that the attacking playmaker may be best suited to League One.
