Leeds are closing in on the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa, with the Argentinian a major coup for the Championship side.

When the deal is finalised, it will give everyone connected to the club optimism about what the future could hold.

Whilst Bielsa hasn't always delivered success at all his clubs, he has a great reputation in world football because of the way he gets his teams playing.

However, he will have a lot of work to do at Elland Road after a dismal 12 months for the club. The recruitment last summer wasn't up to the required standard and the Whites are short in several areas.

Here we look at four deals Leeds should look to complete to prove they are serious about challenging next season...

The Yorkshire club are lacking a quality centre-back and Bartley would be a fine addition.

He has proven himself at Leeds before, struck up a strong partnership with Pontus Jansson and was a leader. It would be a great deal for the club.

Pep Guardiola has admitted Bielsa is an idol of his and he may consider loaning players to Leeds, knowing they will play in a similar style.

And, Diaz, one of the stars coming through at City, could benefit from regular football in the Championship next season.

The winger looked promising at times in his first season but seriously struggled in the last campaign.

His end product isn't good enough and he is far too inconsistent and Bielsa will surely look elsewhere for attacking options, meaning Sacko can leave.

Another who has struggled is Anita, with the former Newcastle man not establishing himself in the team or in a particular position.

Whilst his versatility may appeal to Bielsa, the reality is if Leeds are serious about promotion they will get better players in for specific positions and Anita will be off.
