It has been a tale of two sides for Wolves in their pre-season schedule as a duo of victories during their tour of Austria have been followed by just as many defeats, something manager Nuno Santo will urgently be wanting to put right.

Off the field, however, it's been nothing but a success as the Midlands outfit set their eyes on a return to the Premier League after a five year absence from the top-flight, and it's been a massive helping hand that the Chinese owner is financially backing the club in the transfer window.

As we approach the new 2017/18 season, everyone involved with Wolverhampton Wanderers will be in hope that the team's business isn't over this summer and that there are still drastic changes going to be made.

Some may feel Nuno has to ship out one or two in order to progress as a squad, as their constant mistakes or lacklustre performances could halt Wolves' ambitions in the forthcoming campaign.

With that in mind, it's time for Wolves to get rid of these TWO first-team players who'll hold the side back this coming season.....

Danny Batth

One player who committed his long-term future to the Molineux team last term was defender Danny Batth who penned a four-year deal back in September, but it's fair to say the 26 year-old has his fair share of critics.

Batth was continuously slated for his dire performances in a Wolverhampton Wanderers shirt and Nuno has seemingly addressed those concerns by signing established Portuguese centre-back Roderick Miranda as a replacement.

If Wolves persist with the Brierly Hill-born man then they can see him concede more errors and drag Wolves away from their ambition of promotion to the Premier League - he needs to be sold or loaned out as soon as possible in this window.

Joe Mason

Many would happily state that all Nuno needs to add to his ranks this summer is a recognised goal-scorer but with just over a week until the new season kicks-off, there's little talk of such happening between now and then.

This means inconsistent attacker Joe Mason may be leading the line for Wolves for the early stages of this forthcoming campaign, and his ratio just speaks for itself; a measly six goals in over thirty outings is not the sort of form which'll gain a club an exciting promotion.

The 26-year-old may have to be axed in the window before Wolverhampton Wanderers invest in a reliable forward, but for now they will have to put up with Mason's undependable scoring touch.

Wolves fans, would you agree that these two would hold your club back? Should they be sold or are they suitable players to have around the first-team picture? Tell us your opinions in the comment section below!
