Wolves are in a position this season that has become familiar to them over the last couple of years, mid-table, neither pushing for promotion or in a relegation battle.

However, a large chunk of Wolves' points have been picked up under the guidance of new boss, Paul Lambert, who has won three of his last five games in charge, including a 1-0 victory over local rivals, Aston Villa.

Walter Zenga began the season in the managerial hot seat at Molinuex but things didn't work out as planned for the former Italian goalkeeper, and he was relieved of his duties.

Lambert will have this month's window earmarked as a great opportunity to ship out some of his squad players and make some improvements to his squad.

The former Norwich boss has already begun the recruitment process, bringing in Derby forward, Andreas Weimann, but you get the feeling that won't be the end of his dealings this month.

Here, FLW's Chris Wilson will look at THREE realistic targets for Wolves this month...

Matty Taylor

Taylor was League Two's leading marksman last season, netting 27 goals and he has continued his fine form into League One, notching up 15 goals already.

It only seems a matter of time before someone from the Championship takes a chance on Taylor and Wolves should be the team to do so.

One area where Wolves aren't blessed with several great options is upfront. Nouha Dicko has returned and they also have Jón Daði Böðvarsson, but neither have proved prolific so far.

Adding Taylor in to the mix would give Wolves a serious goal threat and most likely get them moving up the table.

Danny Ward

Ward has been very impressive for Rotherham this season and he has been a stand out performer in what has been a struggling Millers team.

Ward has netted nine goals this season, which is a great return considering he is playing for a struggling side and this is one reason why he has attracted so much interest.

Wolves are definitely in a position, financially, to bring Ward to Molineux and he would certainly add some firepower to their attack.

Luke Freeman

Freeman has attracted some interest from QPR, but Wolves should try and swoop in to sign him from under the R's noses.

The former England U17 international would bring some versatility to the Wolves midfield.

He can play on the wing, but his best position is in the middle of midfield, where Wolves need some reinforcements.

Freeman would bring some creativity to the Wolves midfield and another goal scoring threat, alongside Dave Edwards.

With the Wolves strikers not exactly netting freely, it is important that the mdifielders and wide men can chip in with some goals and Freeman could certainly help do so.
