Preston North End have endured a rollercoaster ride this season but up to this point, it's been an incredible campaign.

The Whites got off to an awful start to their second season back in the Championship after losing six of their opening eight matches but they are now very much back on track.

Simon Grayson's men currently find themselves in ninth place which, given their budget, is a brilliant achievement.

The club have already brought in three players this window on free transfers, two of which have been signed from Irish side Dundalk whereas Tom Barkhuizen arrived from League Two Morecambe.

But North End certainly aren't finished there and will be looking to make maybe a couple more signings before the January window shuts.

FLW writer Tom Rawcliffe has identified three players who Grayson should do his best to bring to the club...

Robbie Keane

Unbelievably, this is actually a realistic transfer that looks very possible.

Preston were made favourites to sign the veteran striker earlier on in the week but the only thing that looks to be in the way is his wages.

If Preston could offload some of their wage budget, which could happen with Stevie May being linked with a temporary move away, it could free up some room for the Irishman.

If the signing was made, the Lilywhites' outside chance of gaining a play-off place could be massively boosted.

Lewis Grabban

If Keane wasn't to happen, then Lewis Grabban could be an alternative to bring to Deepdale.

The striker, currently at Bournemouth, looks set to leave the club this window and whilst North End won't be able to sign the man permanently, he may be available on loan.

Grabban has shown his quality many times before and in the Championship he has passed the 20 goals mark in a season for AFC Bournemouth in the 2013/14 campaign.

Darnell Furlong

Preston have also been linked with full-back Darnell Furlong who currently plays for Queens Park Rangers.

The 21-year-old is fairly highly-rated at Loftus Road after progressing through the youth system and has featured for the R's since his return from his loan spell at Swindon Town.

Furlong is out of contract in the summer so will be attracting the attention of many and if North End can seal the transfer, they'll be getting a very promising player.
