After a lightning fast start to the season, everything looked rosy at Bristol City; progression on the field was tied in with the new stand being erected and Robins fans were dreaming of what was ahead this season.

However, those dreams were short lived and their flying start quickly ground to a halt, although the reason why remains a somewhat unsolved mystery.

The Robins haven't been blighted by injury and Tammy Abraham, who set the league alight early on, is still fit and firing, so you would have to say City are now underachieving.

The Robins are now 19th and in serious danger of being sucked into the relegation zone - something which must be addressed by Lee Johnson this month.

This month's window will make or break City's season: if they get it right and recruit well, then they should finish in the comfort of mid-table but if Johnson doesn't bring in what he needs, City might well be heading back to League One after just two seasons in the Championship.

Here, I will look at 3 realistic signings Bristol City should make this month...

Josh Morris

Morris has been in fine form this season for Scunthorpe, netting 17 goals and setting up a further nine, which shows there is more to his game than scoring goals.

City do have Tammy Abraham and he has been in fine form, but he hasn't been supported by the rest of his time in terms of sharing the burden of goal scoring.

Morris would certainly provide what the Robins need, he knows where the net is but he will also supply team mates with chances and he is also somewhat of a set piece specialist, another avenue for goals.

Zach Clough

Clough shone last season as Bolton were relegated and the Robins could go back to try and get their man this month.

Clough would provide the Robins with some much needed creativity going forward and help supply Abraham with chances, as City need to start scoring more goals.

Kevin Long

Long is well out of favour at Turf Moor and he has three centre backs ahead of him in the quest to get a Premier League game for Burnley.

Bristol City boss Lee Johnson knows Long well from when he had him on loan last season during his spell at Barnsley where he was a standout performer for the Tykes.

City had been linked with a move for Long in the summer but it never materialised and now would be a good time for Johnson to go back and land his man.

Long would shore up the City back line and he is also accomplished on the ball too, so he would slot well into a Lee Johnson team.
