There has been a renewed sense of hope and optimism amongst Wolves fans following the appointment of Nuno Espirito Santo from FC Porto, as the Championship side's new head coach.

Ahead of the new season, with the backing of ambitious owners, Nuno Espirito Santo has the capability of completely reshaping Wolves squad and taking it in a completely different direction to that of Paul Lambert.

For Nuno Espirito Santo to do that, this summer transfer window will once again be one of transition as the Portuguese head coach attempts to begin laying the foundations for his vision of the club.

The first judgment of Nuno Espirito Santo will be his signings and if there is a similar overhaul to last summer, the Portuguese manager will want to move quickly to ensure that his new-look squad has time to gel.

FLW Writer Elliott Wheat-Bowen identifies TWO players Wolverhampton Wanderers could realistically seal deals for in the next week.....

Ruben Neves

Although FC Porto's starlet Ruben Neves has been linked with some of the biggest teams across Europe, the Portuguese international's next destination is likely to be the West Midlands.

Despite only being 20-years-old, Ruben Neves has shown just how talented he is having already made over fifty appearances for FC Porto and played at every level including the senior level for Portugal.

As a client of Jorge Mendes, Ruben Neves appears to be the next to join Wolves.

He will be joining a number of his compatriots including the much sought-after pair Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro.

As well as the influence of Jorge Mendes, it appears that Ruben Neves is set to be reunited with his manager from last season Nuno Espirito Santo as the Portuguese head coach looks to make the most of his ties with his former club.

Whilst Wolves showed last summer their financial clout and ability to draw some of Portuguese's brightest talents to England, the signing of Ruben Neves which Wolves are likely to seal the deal for within the next week will be a major coup ahead of next season.

Arouna Kone

Whilst Wolves have shown that they have the financial capabilities to compete with anyone in the Championship, Nuno Espirito Santo may consider looking at some of the recently released Premier League players.

One player who could prove to be an astute signing for Wolves to make is the former Everton striker Arouna Kone.

Having left Everton in the summer, the Ivorian centre-forward is currently unattached.

Although Arouna Kone's final season at Everton was plagued by injury, the 33-year-old striker could offer priceless experience, especially at the Championship level.

As a low-risk, low-cost option, a number of Championship sides will be considering a move for the 33-year-old striker who could prove to be an astute shrewd signing.

Now that Arouna Kone has officially left Everton, it could be a move that is realistically sealed within the next week if Nuno Espirito Santo feels that Kone could be a useful player to have at his disposal.
