The summer transfer window is in full swing across the Football League with rumours and transfers dominating the headlines during this time of the year.

One team who will be desperate to bring in some more new faces this summer will be Nottingham Forest, a team that came so close to dropping down to League One last season.

Under Mark Warburton, Forest supporters can expect a better campaign next season, though they still need some new faces to join striker Jason Cummings from Hibernian who became the Reds' first bit of business this summer.

A number of potential signings are already circulating around the club during this time of year as expected, and it will be down to Mark Warburton and his Director of Football Frank McParland to secure these deals.

Who else will join the East Midlands club in the forthcoming weeks remains to be seen, but FLW writer Harry Webster takes a look at TWO players who could realistically join the club in the next week...

James Tavernier

Unsurprisingly, due to Mark Warburton's spell as Rangers boss, right back James Tavernier is a player that keeps being linked with a move to The City Ground.

The 25-year-old is expected to play for Rangers in their Europa League qualification match tonight, but it would come as no surprise if he were to link up with the Reds after it was reported in the Scotsman that a first bid had been rejected for him at the beginning of the week.

Forest have American Eric Lichaj as their only option at right back and Tavernier would not only offer more depth, but more quality to both the Reds' defence and attack.

Jake Bidwell

Another defender who has worked with Mark Warburton and linked with a move to The City Ground is Jake Bidwell, and you sense that this is another deal that may well go through if the money is right.

After the release of Dani Pinillos at the end of last season, the Reds now need another left back with QPR defender Bidwell the most closely linked to a move to The City Ground.

Premier League side Burnley are also interested in a move for the 24-year-old so Forest should act quickly if they want their man.

At Championship level, Bidwell continues to be one of the strongest and most consistent left back's in the league and would be an impressive coup by the East Midlands club.

Nottingham Forest fans... Do you think both of these players could sign before the end of the summer? Do you need both players? Who else would you like to see join the club? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
