Chris Wilder's side couldn't have asked for a better start to the season, 12 games into their league campaign, Sheffield United occupy top spot in the Championship.

The Blades are unbeaten in their last five matches and will go into their crunch match away to Derby County after the international break full of confidence.

After their narrow 1-0 win over relegation threatened Hull City, it made it four wins in a row for Wilder's side, and with the strikeforce of Billy Sharp and David McGoldrick already netting 13 goals between them, it wouldn't be a surprise to see the Blades maintain their place at the top of the Championship.

The club have made a rapid rise to the top, after only being promoted from League 1 two seasons ago, and as part of the re-building process, Wilder's side does contain a number of players who are deemed surplus to requirements.

The former Everton youngster made 36 league appearances last season for Chris Wilder's side. But in contrast, this season Lundstram has only made 3 starts, and will be disappointed at his lack of game time.

His lack of game time is largely down to the good form shown by John Fleck and on-loan Brighton midfielder Oliver Norwood and with the return of Paul Coutts to the matchday squad, it is difficult to see Lundstram being able to force his way into Chris Wilder's plans this season.

Carruthers is currently out on loan at League 1 strugglers Oxford United and has only made two appearances in his loan spell at the club.

Carruthers only made four starts all season for Sheffield United last season and with time still on his side at the age of 25, he will be after guaranteed regular game time which he is unlikely to get at Bramall Lane.
