Stoke City's season is lurching from bad to worse following their latest defeat to Bristol City at the weekend, a result that sees the Potters rooted to the bottom of the Championship table.

Potters manager Nathan Jones is under extreme pressure to turn things around, but having had a full summer to recruit and a full pre-season, the question must be whether the 46-year-old is the man to turn things around at the bet365 Stadium.

So how much longer does Jones have at Stoke City?

We discuss...

Toby Wilding

"He has to be on borrowed time now surely.

"Three league wins since January - and none this season - is simply not good enough for a side with the size and expectations that Stoke currently have.

"While there is still plenty of time to pull themselves away from the relegation, The Potters had been aiming for so much more than that this season, so I can't see that alone being good enough for Jones, and even at this early stage, I can't see them bridging the gap to promotion push they were touted for over the summer.

"With slow starters Brentford in the league and League Two Crawley in the Cup in their next two games, I think Jones has to get something from those fixtures to show there is life in his side yet, or it could well be curtains."

Alfie Burns

“Time is running out, for me.

“Admittedly, Jones inherited a mess from Gary Rowett, but he’s had a summer to clear the decks and try to get things right, which just hasn’t happened.

“The Potters don’t look like they could buy a win at the moment and something needs to change as they’re getting cut adrift with Huddersfield.

“Honestly, I can’t see Jones pulling them out of their current situation.”

George Dagless

"He's hanging on by a thread.

"It was another disappointing weekend for Stoke but they were not helped by the early red card and that clearly changed the game.

"Jones should not lose his job on the back of that one but they are getting left behind at the moment and that needs to be addressed in the next few games or it'll be all over for him."
