One more win for the Royals should just about guarantee a play-off finish for the club with three games remaining, with them sat third in the table under the guidance of Jaap Stam.

It has been an ideal campaign for Reading as they’ve not only pushed for promotion, but exceeded most supporters’ expectations having been placed inside the top-six for the majority of the season.

The team still have to come up against three sides who all loom around the relegation zone; Nottingham Forest, Wigan Athletic and Burton Albion.

Whilst to a few these would be considered easy victories, Stam won’t take the risk and will field fully-strengthened squads for these encounters as the Dutchman will want to take a positive run of form into the play-off semi-finals.

As a result, a number of players who haven’t seen much action will continue to sit in the stands and a busy summer lies ahead, as they are likely to be booted out the club by the current boss.
