After enduring a terrific first season under Garry Monk, Leeds United's campaign looks unlikely to culminate in promotion via the play-offs anymore.

The Whites were hot contenders for the play-off spots, after juggling around the fourth and fifth place spots for the duration of the campaign.

Now though, Monk's men find themselves seventh in the standings, three points behind high-flying Fulham, who do not look like dropping points anytime soon.

After Saturday's 2-1 defeat to relegation candidates Burton Albion, Leeds fans everywhere looked resigned to another season of Championship football, despite performances this season that have perhaps warranted Premier League football next term.

Some players have been absolute revelations for Leeds this year, the likes of Pontus Jansson, Pablo Hernandez and the division's top goalscorer Chris Wood, who has 25 goals to his name this year.

But some players haven't pulled their weight this season, which has probably been the biggest downfall of the Yorkshire club's campaign, as well as many lacklustre performances.

With that being said, here, FLW takes a look at TWO players that need to be axed by Monk in the summer...

Marcus Antonsson

Perhaps the most obvious choice of the duo; Antonsson's Leeds United career hasn't really set off yet, and doesn't look to anytime soon either...

Behind the likes of top-scorer Chris Wood, Kemar Roofe and Souleymane Doukara in the pecking order for strikers, the Swede, who signed from Kalmar FF in the summer has netted just once in 16 appearances for Garry Monk's men.

The 25-year old scored 22 times in 41 games in the Swedish league last term, so he is definitely capable of finding the back of the net, however the harsh climate of the Championship has seemed to erase any chances of Antonsson remaining at Elland Road come next August.

Toumani Diagouraga

Diagouraga currently finds himself on loan at fellow Championship outfit Ipswich Town, and it is perhaps better if the midfielder remained at Portman Road too.

The 29-year old signed from Brentford in January 2016, however only managed to make 18 appearances for United before being shipped out to Mick McCarthy's Tractorboys.

If Leeds were to defy the odds and reach the Premier League next term, Diagouraga should definitely be the first player to pack his bags and depart Elland Road.

So... What do you think Leeds fans? Should these two players be given another under chance? Or are they just not good enough? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!
