Many congratulations to Brighton and Hove Albion, who won promotion this week and will enjoy their first season in the Premier League next year.

The Seagulls were one of the favourites to go up despite a disappointing end to last year's campaign which saw them drop into the play offs on the final day after losing to Middlesbrough.

Knocked out by Sheffield Wednesday, their promotion dream was over, and it's to the credit of manager Chris Hughton and all of his players to bounce back in such stunning style, and look like title winners in waiting.

With the help of Championship player of the season Anthony Knockaert and stunning finishes like EFL Goal of the season winner Steve Sidwell's strike vs Bristol City, they've achieved their goal and face a busy summer ahead.

There will, of course, be casualties in the squad as there are always players who aren't Premier League quality, so with that in mind here are two who Brighton should axe this summer...

Vegard Forren

Surely Vegard Forren is not about to go another stint at an English club without making a single appearance?

The Norweigen centre half signed for Southampton following their promotion to the Premier League back in January 2013, but failed to make a single appearance and went straight back where he came from, to Molde in his home country.

A similar fate may befall him whilst at Brighton and Hove Ablion, where he signed in January, but has failed to make an appearance. It seems extremely likely that he'll depart the club this summer.

Richie Towell

Irish midfielder Richie Towell was an absolute star at Dundalk where he managed over 40 goals in 96 appearances from midfield, but has struggled to find his feet in England.

He's played four minutes of league football Brighton this season, suggesting he's far from ready to play at the level Brighton are at, even less so in the Premier League.

It would seem likely, given his form in Ireland, that Towell could find a move to a strong League One club, or possibly a lower level Championship side, and he should seek that move this summer.

Brighton fans... Do you agree? Should these players be axed? Let us know in the comments below.
