Burton Albion couldn't provide themselves with more breathing space above the relegation zone as Nigel Clough's Brewers gave away a two-goal lead to lose 5-3 at home to mid-table opponents Brentford

The visitors went ahead when Sergi Canos sweetly hit the half-volley from ten yards after a Romaine Sawyers cross but Burton equalised minutes later when Marvin Sordell headed in at the back post.

Just 120 seconds afterwards and the hosts took the advantage - almost replicating his first with a finish from close range.

Before the interval Burton Albion extended their lead to put breathing space between them and the away team; Cauley Woodrow bends in a free-kick past Daniel Bentley.

Although Brentford would begin their fight back moments after the break as Lasse Vibe smashed home past the Brewers' goalkeeper to make it 3-2.

Canos got his second of the afternoon after rounding the home side's defence to tuck the ball in from tight angle to equaliser the score line.

Burton gave away the chance to go home with a point as Dean Smith's Bees grabbed the lead in the 85th minute as Vibe got on the end of a cross. They completed their comeback just 60 seconds later as Jota finished at the near post.

This would have been a devastating end to the game for Burton Albion, who sit just one point above the drop zone. Here's how the set of home fans reacted to the disappointing score line on Twitter....
