Sunderland will be looking secure a second consecutive victory in League One tonight when they host Rotherham United at the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats produced a promising display last Saturday against Accrington Stanley and thus will fancy their chances of overcoming the Millers.

Currently fifth in the third-tier standings, Sunderland could move into the top-two depending on the outcome of results elsewhere.

However, with Rotherham brimming with confidence after thrashing Bolton Wanderers 6-1 at the weekend, the Black Cats know that they will have to be on top-form against Paul Warne's side.

Keeping this in mind, we have set out three tweaks that manager Jack Ross could make to Sunderland's line-up for their showdown with the Millers.

Check them out below...

Start Charlie Wyke up-front

Having missed the club's previous outing against Accrington due to suspension, Charlie Wyke could make his return to action tonight.

Whilst the forward has yet to hit top-form this season, he could offer Sunderland with more of a vocal point up-front compared to Marc McNulty who is always looking to make runs in behind opposition defences.

Therefore, if Ross is looking to go more direct against Rotherham, Wyke may end up playing a pivotal role for the Black Cats.

Bring Max Power back into the starting eleven

Despite being dropped for George Dobson on Saturday, Max Power could be in line to make his return to Sunderland's starting eleven against Rotherham.

Whilst Dobson unquestionably possesses a great deal of talent, his Sunderland team-mate holds a clear advantage when it comes to experience.

Having played over 330 games during his career, Power knows exactly what it takes to secure victory in close matches and thus may be more suited for tonight's showdown.

Replace Jordan Willis with Thomas Flanagan

When you consider that Sunderland have still yet to keep a clean sheet in League One this season, it would not be at all surprising if Ross decides to make an alteration to his back-four.

Whilst Alim Ozturk should keep his place in the heart of defence, Tom Flanagan may be given the nod over Jordan Willis at the Stadium of Light.

Impressive during the Black Cats' recent victory over Burnley in the Carabao Cup, the 27-year-old will be aiming to deliver another stand-out performance against Rotherham in what would be his third league start of the season.
