While their four-game winning run may have come to an end, Blackburn Rovers did at least make it five games unbeaten on Wednesday night, as they played out a 1-1 draw with Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium.

Danny Graham gave Blackburn the lead just five minutes into the game, firing in his 50th league goal for Rovers against his former club, only for Andre Ayew to had the Swans level just moments later.

The game would eventually finish 10-a-side, with Swansea's Tom Carroll and Blackburn's Bradley Dack both shown red cards for second bookable offences within ten minutes of each other early in the second half.

Despite that, neither side was able to find a winner, meaning both had to settle for a point apiece, a result which means Rovers remain tenth in the Championship, three points adrift of the play-offs.

That will have given Tony Mowbray plenty to think about heading into his side's clash with fourth-placed Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday, and here, we've taken a look at three things we learned about Blackburn from that draw with Swansea.

A sense of relief for Danny Graham

He may not have celebrated against his former club, but inside Danny Graham will surely have been delighted to his first-time effort nestle into the bottom corner of the Swansea net on Wednesday night.

That strike on his old stomping ground was his first for Rovers since August, and brings an end to a run of 15 league appearances without a goal in the league.

While Graham's physicality and ability to hold the ball up means he has still made a significant contribution in that time, the fact he is a striker means he is going to be expected to contribute his share of goals - particularly given how prolific he has been for Rovers in recent years - so this will have been a welcome confidence boost for one of Blackburn's key men.

Ryan Nyambe continues to cement his place at right-back

He may be at the other end of his career in comparison to Danny Graham, but it seems as though Ryan Nyambe is becoming just as important to this Blackburn side.

Having been restored to the starting lineup in a right-back position that he - unlike the man who held it at the start of the season, Elliott Bennett - is a natural in during the last few games, the Namibian has helped provide a new sense of much-needed stability to Rovers' backline.

That was once again on show at Swansea, where Nyambe led by example to help keep a dangerous Swans attack at bay, surely further cementing his place in the side ahead of club captain Bennett.

They are learning to deal with setbacks

Speaking after the game about the red card shown to Dack, Mowbray admitted that he had found himself thinking back to when Rovers had seen Richie Smallwood while at 0-0 midway through the second half of a league game with Sheffield United just under 12 months ago.

Back then, that dismissal to bring Blackburn down to 10-a-side against Chris Wilder's side had seen Rovers capitulate, with a trio quickfire strikes in the ten minutes following Smallwood's red sealing an emphatic three points for the promotion-bound Blades.

This time around however, Blackburn were able to respond in a stronger fashion to such a setback, holding firm to help see the game out for a point. Indeed they were perhaps unlucky not to have taken more, but for Swansea 'keeper Freddie Woodman saving well from Sam Gallagher after a brilliant solo run from the Blackburn substitute late on, showing they are learning how to adapt to changing situations throughout the course of matches.

The question now will be whether Rovers can cope without their talisman for the full 90 minutes against promotion-chasing Bristol City on Saturday afternoon.
