Sheffield Wednesday have been on a great run of form since Steve Bruce arrived at the club and are now looking up rather than down.

They are now unbeaten in their last six matches, winning three of them, with a 2-0 win against Brentford on Tuesday the most recent of their successes.

Steven Fletcher scored both goals as the Owls rose to within just six points of the play-off places leaving fears of a relegation scrap earlier in the season far behind them.

It is an impressive start to life at Hillsborough considering the turbulent year Bruce has had both on and off the pitch.

After a poor start to the season, Aston Villa fans quickly turned on him eventually leading to his sacking at the beginning of October.

But he has silenced his critics with brutal efficiency since the start of February.

Here, we take a look at THREE things he is getting absolutely spot on at Hillsborough...

Before Christmas, it was a common occurence for the Owls to concede three or four goals per game.

Since Bruce and his team have come in, however, they have been rock solid, conceding just three times in their last seven games.

With that foundation, it is easy to see why they are being considered play-off candidates now.

This was something that Jos Luhukay was criticised a lot for during his tenure but something Bruce seems to be doing it perfectly.

You can see the confidence pulsing through the team once again and that will nearly entirely be down to Bruce.

Strikers do not look afraid to shoot whilst the defence is working as an incredibly effective unit.

[snack_break title="The Tone]

Considering he was hammered so frequently for his press conference answers at Villa it is impressive how quickly he nailed the tone at Wednesday.

From his first address he won the fans onside, leading him to the perfect start possible for a new manager.

Winning the fans back over looked like being one of his harder tasks but Bruce did it almost immediately.
