Bolton Wanderers have had a thoroughly difficult season both on and off the pitch, currently sat second bottom of the table

Nobody has scored fewer goals than Phil Parkinson's side this season as well, with the trotters netting just 19 times in 30 matches - even bottom club Ipswich Town have managed four more.

Winger Will Buckley remains the club's top-scorer this season with just four goals with strikers Josh Magennis and Sammy Ameobi scoring just six times between them, leading to calls for Parkinson to dip into the free agent market.

Parkinson today teased that he may be tempted to dip into the transfer market in the near future for a free-agent in order to add more of a goal threat to his side.

Midfielder Callum Connolly was the only new face to arrive at the club in the January window, joining on loan from Everton until the end of the campaign.

But if they are to hunt out a free agent, who could they move for?

Here are THREE possibilities...

Gabriel Agbonlahor

He his comfortably past his peak but some experience and guile in front of goal could be just what is needed at the club.

Magennis and Ameobi have lacked a ruthless edge which is something that Agbonlahor has always had in front of goal.

It is a risk given his lack of game time but it could be worth taking.

Darren Bent

They will not find a more experienced Championship forward for nothing than Darren Bent.

46 goals in 138 games shows a striker who knows the league and will definitely find the net if the chances are created for him.

After a tricky spell last season he will be eager to prove himself again.

Emmanuel Emenike

Remember him? Having been released by Olympiacos in the summer, the Nigerian is still on the lookout for a new club, so why not come to Bolton?

Famous for his pace and strength, he would surely add a different dimension to a tired and predictable Bolton attack.

He hardly has an impressive past in England and his wages will need to be negotiated intensley, but why not have a look?
