Alex Neil’s Norwich City side suffered an immediate return to the Championship after finishing 19th in the Premier League this season, just 12 months after the elation they experienced at Wembley in the play-off final.
One of the main criticisms of the Canaries last year has been their recruitment and their inability to construct a side that was capable of staying clear of the relegation zone in the top flight.
The proverbial yo-yo.
Another issue that blighted their campaign were defensive frailties and individual mistakes that costs them points at crucial parts of the season.
There did not seem to be a back four capable of keeping regular clean sheets, and there was no consistent partner for the very impressive January acquisition Timm Klose.
Neil may choose to find an alternative to Sebastian Bassong and Russell Martin at centre-back, as well as gearing up for the possibility that there may be a great deal of interest in Klose from elsewhere should he have an impressive Euro 2016 with Austria.
With this in mind, FLW’s Tom Percival looks at three defensive rocks Norwich City should sign as they seek to get out of the Championship at the first time of asking once more.
