Bolton's dismal recent form continued on Saturday as they lost 1-0 at home to Swansea, which saw them fall to second from bottom in the Championship.

Phil Parkinson's side have now lost four in a row, without scoring a goal, and six in their last seven.

Such a run is a major concern for the former Bradford boss who knows he has a real battle on his hands to keep the Trotters in the second-tier.

Given their position, Parkinson will need all of his players to step up and that hasn't been the case recently.

Here we look at THREE players who should be doing more for Bolton and need to prove themselves to the boss over the international break...

The winger arrived in the summer and he was seen as a player who could provide the side with an additional spark and creativity in the final third.

However, that hasn't happened and the former Wigan man has failed to make the matchday squad in the last three games.

Given his talent, he should be a key player for this side and needs to improve.

The experienced defender has struggled since joining in the summer and has only played five Championship games.

At 31 he should have a lot more to offer and his versatility is a positive for Parkinson.

Now though, the Ireland international needs to improve significantly to win a place in the XI.

The former Forest Green striker was prolific in the lower leagues, but has been a substitute for most of the games this season.

That will have frustrated the 26-year-old, particularly when you see the Trotters struggles in front of goal.

However, there must be a reason for that and Doidge needs to show the manager in training that he deserves a start against Millwall in what is a massive game.
