Leeds United kicked off their pre-season schedule with a win on Wednesday night, defeating local side York City by five goals to nil at Bootham Crescent.

The fixture presented Leeds fans with the opportunity to see Marcelo Bielsa's side get back into the thick of things, after missing out on promotion to the Premier League last time out.

Bielsa named a strong team to face the National League North side, with the likes of Kiko Casilla, Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe and Liam Cooper all starting from the off.

And the Whites turned on the style in front of over 5,000 fans, with Roofe, Hernandez, Jack Harrison and Adam Forshaw all getting on the scoresheet, to ensure that Leeds got their pre-season off to an ideal start.

Plenty of youngsters were given their chance to impress too, with the likes of Rafa Mujica, Robbie Gotts, Alfie McCalmont and Kun Temenuzhkov all getting some valuable minutes under their belt.

After the game, Twitter user @ItsGavE pictured Bielsa taking time to have pictures and sign autographs with Leeds fans, who are still delighted at the news that he will be staying at Elland Road for the 2019/20 campaign.
