Leeds United youngster Alex Machuca is set to spend the year away from the club to gain some valuable first-team experience elsewhere.

Machuca is heading to Burgos CF - who play in the Segunda Division B Group 1 - for the 2018/19 season, Leeds confirmed on their official website.

The 20-year-old had been a regular fixture in Carlos Corberan's under-23 side at Leeds last season, after joining the club from Spanish club Union Rayo.

But now the Spaniard is heading back to his home country on a temporary basis, where he will feature in the third division of Spanish football next season.

Machuca is set to spend time out on loan to convince Marcelo Bielsa that he is ready to first-team action, rather than spending another season in the academy set up at Elland Road.

Here are how a bunch of Leeds fans reacted once Machuca's loan exit to Burgos CF was confirmed.
