Thomas Sandgaard reacts to Charlton Athletic’s 6-0 win over Plymouth Argyle

Charlton Athletic remain in good form under the management of Nigel Adkins, as they thrashed Plymouth Argyle 6-0 on Tuesday evening.

Goals from Jake Forster-Caskey, an own goal from Plymouth’s Kelland Watts, Jayden Stockley, Alex Gilbey, Liam Millar and Chuks Aneke saw the Addicks run out convincing winners on the night.

It means that Adkins’ side are sat sixth in the League One table, and a point clear of seventh-placed Oxford United, although the Addicks have two matches in hand over the U’s, which they’ll be hoping they can use to their advantage in the near future.

That wins means that Charlton are now unbeaten in their last ten matches, and they’re certainly hitting an impressive run of form at the ideal time of the 2020/21 season.

The Addicks were relegated from the Championship last season, but will fancy their chances of winning promotion back into the second-tier at the first time of asking.

Charlton Athletic owner Thomas Sandgaard took to Twitter to react to this impressive win over Plymouth Argyle, and was evidently pleased to see his team move back into the play-off positions.

Charlton are set to return to action at the weekend, when they host promotion-chasing rivals Peterborough United at The Valley, in what is certain to be a tricky test for Adkins’ side, as they look to make it 11 matches unbeaten in League One.

Are these facts about Charlton Athletic's shirts over the years genuine or fake?

Charlton’s home shirts have always been red and white throughout their entire history in every season – True or false?

The Verdict:

It’s great to see him excited about their good run of form.

Charlton have had plenty of ups and downs in this year’s campaign both on and off the pitch, but they’ve hit form at the ideal time this season.

They’re the team with all the momentum at the moment, and the appointment of Nigel Adkins is looking as though it could be Sandgaard’s best decision to date.

Adkins has been brilliant in charge of the club, and I really do fancy Charlton to win promotion this season under his management.
