It was disappointment for Brentford at Ewood Park yesterday evening as Thomas Frank's side suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Blackburn Rovers.

Bradley Dack's 9th goal of the season for Rovers in the 11th minute of the contest in Lancashire was enough to separate the sides, despite the West London side dominating possession and having nine more attempts on goal.

The best opportunity for the visitors was through Said Benrahma, who smacked the crossbar with a whipped free-kick from just outside the penalty area in the second half.

The loss means that The Bees remain eighth in the Championship, having missed out on the chance to break into the play-off places, which would've been achieved with a win.

It is also The Bees' first defeat away from home since the 5th October, having previously winning their last three games on their travels.

Speaking to the club's Twitter account, Frank offered his verdict on his side's performance, picking up on where his side can improve for games in the future.

"It was a quite open game with a lot of chances in both boxes. I think we normally defend better than we did today, in open play but also in transition," Frank said.

"We still need to learn to create bigger and better chances in the end of the game when we are chasing, because we have the quality to do it."

The Verdict

The defeat will be hard to take for Brentford, considering the run the side were on of late. A key improvement that is needed is for the side to be more clinical in front of goal.

The Bees don't have long to dwell on the loss as they take on Luton Town at Griffin Park this Saturday.
