Brentford have one of their biggest games of the season on Tuesday night, as second place Leeds United make the trip to West London.

The Whites have been on a very poor run of form of late which has threatened their place in the top two, and the Bees will want to take full advantage of it as they sit just two points behind the Elland Road side.

Leeds have lost four of their last five league games, which contrasts significantly to Brentford, who have lost once in six.

Ahead of the big clash, Thomas Frank spoke to the press to provide a squad update and discuss which players may be missing.

The main talking point amongst the squad is centre-half Pontus Jansson, who has missed Brentford's last four league games with an injury.

Frank had a word to say about how the Swede was getting on behind the scenes.

"The only one [out] is Pontus Jansson who we will take a call on in the morning. He was out on the grass today which is positive," the Bees boss said.

It remains to be seen if the club will take the risk on the 28-year-old, who last featured against Queens Park Rangers in mid-January.

Thomas Frank has said he has no further issues to report amongst the squad.

Sergi Canos, Nikos Karelis and Marcus Forss remain the long-term absentees for the TW8 side.

The Verdict

It is positive news for Brentford that Jansson is back out on the grass, but the game against his former club may come a touch too soon.

The club will assess him, and if he does feature, it is likely to be a cameo appearance off the bench.

Regardless, Brentford could leapfrog the Whites into second place with a win and other results also go in their favour.

The Bees have won just once in their last four meetings against the Yorkshire side.
