Brentford have confirmed their seventh signing of the summer with Troyes AC attacker Bryan Mbeumo joining for an undisclosed fee.

The 19-year-old has signed a five-year deal at Griffin Park and is expected to be a part of Thomas Frank's squad on Saturday for the Bees' trip to Middlesbrough.

The Frenchman played 35 times in the French second division last season, netting ten goals and assisting three more as Troyes narrowly missed out on promotion.

But he has now moved across the Channel to join Frank's revolution for, according to Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports, around an initial £6million which could rise to £7million.

The statement from the club revealed that Mbeumo was watching on from the stands on Saturday as Birmingham City came away from Brentford with all three points on the opening day of the season.

A brilliant header from Kristian Pedersen was enough to win the match for Pep Clotet's side but confidence will remain high with the West Londoners.

This summer has seen them bring in the likes of Pontus Jansson, Ethan Pinnock, Mathias Jensen and David Raya, helping the club creep into the promotion debate.

The verdict

I had never heard of Mbeuomo before this summer so how he will perform under Frank is a mystery to me.

But given just how good the club's recruitment has been for years now, I think you have to trust the club and believe that he will probably go on to become a very good player.

With the likes of Said Benrahma and Neal Maupay still part of the club, their attack keeps growing stronger and stronger by the day.
