Danny Simpson has been linked with a loan move to Stoke City as reported by the Leicester Mercury.

The Leicester City defender has fallen down the pecking order at right-back at the King Power Stadium.

Simpson had been the subject of a deadline-day enquiry from Wolves, and it is understood he is keen to get first-team football.

So should Gary Rowett look to sign the 31-year-old defender? Would he be a good signing for the Potters?

We discuss.....

Jay Taylor

Very good move.

He is a player with vast Premier League experience and Stoke are light in the defensive areas.

Simpson isn’t getting a game at Leicester City, and he’s going to want a move away.

This would be the perfect opportunity to get back to playing first-team football.

Gary Hutchinson

Yes, Simpson would be a good capture for Gary Rowett’s side.

He’s played 107 Premier League games for Leicester, he’s lifted the title and he’s grown into a comfortable and competent right back.

It surprised me to even see they have a chance, I thought he might have another season in the top flight.

This'd certainly be a step in the right direction.

George Dagless

It could well be.

He's a good player that has plenty of experience in the top flight so he should offer plenty in the Championship.

If Stoke get him he'd surely be a first-team regular so Rowett should try and bring him in.

Sam Rourke

This'd be a top signing.

I still think Simpson could play in the top-flight so this would be a great acquisition for Rowett's men.

You'd probably say they'd have one of the best defences in the league if they snapped him up.
