Bolton Wanderers remain cast adrift at the base of League One, currently on minus nine points, still 12 points behind AFC Wimbledon in 22nd place, though they do have a couple of matches in hand on the Dons.

Trotters manager Keith Hill continues to search for his side's first win of the season and is attempting to lure former Norwich City winger Ben Marshall to the club, with the 28-year-old currently a free-agent, according to a report in the Bolton News.

So should Bolton really push to sign Marshall?

We discuss........

Louie Chandler

"This'd be an excellent move.

"Marshall has shown that he is good enough to play in the Championship so if Bolton could land him it would be a real coup.

"He is a versatile player, capable of filling in in a number of roles, and seems to be the sort of player that Keith Hill would love.

"I would be very surprised if this move does not now get completed."

Ben Lang

"This would be a great move if Bolton can pull it off, but they may need to rely on Marshall being willing to take a pay cut to join the club.

"Bolton should be very firmly in the market for experienced players to help them navigate towards survival this term, and Marshall is someone who can bring that given his track record in the EFL.

"The 28-year-old has made around 300 appearances in the second and third tiers across his career, and he would give Keith Hill another valuable option in attack.

"I think Bolton could still do with making one or two more signings to ensure they have enough quality in the side, and signing Marshall would be a great start."

Gary Hutchinson

“Yes.

“It’s a simple answer, really it is. Marshall was quality for Millwall a season or so back and he would be a huge signing in League One.

“Bolton are sadly short on quality; not as short as they were, but they have a bare bones squad and lack options. This really is a no-brainer, Marshall can play wing back, full back or in attack and would bring a wealth of experience to those younger players.

“If they don’t sign him it’s financial, nothing more.”
