Leeds United may be embroiled in the small matter of the Championship play-offs, but that has not stopped the club considering a bid for Bolton Wanderers starlet Luca Connell, according to the print edition of The Sun (May 12, Page 59).

Connell, 18, has made 10 appearances for relegated Wanderers this season, but can quit as he has not signed a full-time deal at the club, meaning that a tribunal could set a fee that may be as low as £300,000.

So would Connell be a good signing for Leeds?

We discuss.........

Toby Wilding

"This'd be a shrewd signing.

"Connell has been one of the brighter of sparks of an otherwise dismal season at Bolton this year, and it seems unlikely he will stay at the club with a League One relegation battle looming.

"Leeds have given chances to plenty of young, promising midfielders recently, and Connell could be next to get that opportunity"

Gary Hutchinson

“Not an outstanding signing, no.

“I can’t see him cutting it in the Premier League, but maybe he’s a top six Championship play.

“I suppose much depends on the outcome of the play-offs, doesn’t it?

“Go up and it’s underwhelming. Stay down and maybe not a bad move.”

George Brooks

"Connell is a talented young player and has been very impressive for Bolton during the second half of this season.

"He can play in defence or midfield and could be a great signing for Leeds.

"Plenty of high-profile clubs are thought to be interested in him, so it could prove difficult for Leeds to sign him - I think a lot will depend on whether the Whites win promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs."
