Sunderland could only manage a draw at the weekend away at Charlton, a result that leaves the Black Cats six points behind leaders Portsmouth with a game in hand.

For manager Jack Ross there is not let up, as he looks for the recruits that can support his side in their wish to gain promotion to the English second tier at the first attempt.

The latest player to be linked with Sunderland is Celtic winger Lewis Morgan, who as reported in the Sunderland Echo worked under Ross at St Mirren last season.

So would Morgan be a good signing for Sunderland?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

This'd be a cracking signing.

He has had game time for Celtic and would get minutes at Sunderland too.

He knows Jack Ross and would fit their system nicely too.

There’s every reason to get this done sooner rather than later.

George Dagless

He could be.

Morgan has fallen by the wayside a little for Celtic this season after threatening to break through at the start of the campaign.

Sunderland have good players and Morgan would fit in nicely if he joined.

Louie Chandler

I think so.

They could do with a bit more depth over on the left-wing especially if Aiden McGeady were to depart to free up space on the wage bill.

Morgan is yet to score or rack up an assist this season but at 22 there is plenty for Ross to work with.
