Charlton Athletic could be set for a long summer in the battle to keep Joe Aribo, with Scottish giants Celtic and Rangers both reportedly interested in signing the midfielder.

The 22-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season at The Valley this campaign, scoring ten goals in 37 league appearances as The Addicks look to secure promotion to The Championship via the play-offs.

That impressive form appears to have caught the attention of a number sides, with Goal reporting that Scottish football's big two are both set to compete for Aribo's signature in the summer transfer window.

With reports previously linking Premier League big hitters Manchester City and Arsenal with Aribo, who is out of contract at The Valley in the summer.

But would Aribo be a good signing for Celtic?

We asked some of our Football League World writers for their opinions...

Jacob Potter

"I’m not sure this would be a good move.

"Celtic need to be appointing a permanent manager before making any signings as they might not get game time when a new boss comes in.

"Competition for places out wide in particular are already fierce and I can’t see Aribo getting in ahead of the likes of Sinclair and Forrest anytime soon.

"A bad move for both parties."

Louie Chandler

"This would be an excellent signing.
"Aribo is a serious talent and one that could go straight into the Celtic side.
"I would not be surprised if the Scottish giants were able to sell him on for a hefty amount in a few more years as well."
Chris Gallagher
"I'm not sure they need him.
"There's no doubt that Aribo is a talented player but Celtic have the likes of Tom Rogic, Ryan Christie and Calum McGregor in midfield. "I can't see how he breaks into the team at Parkhead and it may be a move that all parties regret down the line if it was to happen."

Sam Rourke

"This'd be a cracking signing.

"Aribo is one of the hottest properties emerging from the EFL, and at the age of just 22, has room to develop and mature into a top player.

"His creativity and dynamism make him a great option to have in your team, and you feel he has all the required attributes to become a success in the SPFL.

" Get it done!"
