Manchester United are leading Liverpool in the race to sign in-form Swansea winger, Daniel James according to the Daily Mail.

The Welshman has attracted interest from top Premier League clubs since the turn of the year, but the Red Devils has reportedly moved ahead of Liverpool in the race to sign him.

It had previously been reported that Leeds were set to sign James in January, but the move fell through as Swansea pulled out of the deal.

He has four goals and seven assists to his name and James will be hoping that his future can be resolved as quickly as possible.

It seems unlikely that James will remain with Swansea though, with his contract expiring at the end of next year's league campaign.

An interesting summer awaits for the winger, and he certainly isn't going to be short of offers.

But would a move to Manchester United be the right move for James?

We discuss....

George Harbey:

"He has had an exceptional season, but let's face it, he isn't Manchester United quality just yet.

"Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs to seriously rebuild his squad with world-class additions in the summer, and James doesn't fit into that bracket just yet, unfortunately.

"Somewhere like Bournemouth would be a better move for him."

Toby Wilding:

"I don't think this is the best move for James.

"While it seems inevitable he will move to the Premier League in the summer, there will be an immense amount of expectation on James when he does step up, and right now, Manchester United are not a side performing to their expectations.

"If United were to continue to struggle after James' arrival, then it could lead to scrutiny on the Welshman that he simply wouldn't need in his first season in the top-flight."

Jacob Potter:

"This wouldn't be a smart move by James.

"There's no doubting that he's good enough for the Premier League, but he wouldn't be getting the game time he needs to develop in the early stages of his career.

"I'd steer clear of a move to Old Trafford at the moment, and look at options elsewhere this summer."
