Sheffield United have had a relatively poor start to the season and need to get back on track as soon as possible, if they are to avoid a season in the lower reaches of the Championship.

Blades boss Chris Wilder could well look to the loan market in an attempt to bolster his ranks and veteran Villa hitman Ross McCormack could fit the bill.

The Scottish striker clearly does not have a future at Villa Park and it would be no surprise to see a Championship club snap him up, could the Blades be that team?

Should Wilder move for McCormack? Would he be a good signing?

We discuss.....

Gary Hutchinson

That would be a better move for him, the Blades need extra bodies up front and McCormack would be in contention immediately.

The subject of cost would have to be broached though. Villa are not going to get anything like the money they paid for him.

He does still have something to offer though, Chris Wilder should consider it.

After all, he’s rotting away at Villa.

Jay Taylor

This wouldn’t be a bad move.

Chris Wilder is looking to add a fifth striker to his ranks to complement the four he already has.

Ross McCormack would offer something different to the rest of his potential teammates.

Ben Woodburn is their only striker who is under 30 so if Villa man does join it would be a welcome addition to the old boys’ club.

Sam Rourke

Not for me.

McCormack is likely to command a sizeable wage and Sheffield United are unlikely to be able to afford it.

He can be a top-class striker on his day, but the Blades have enough options as it is.

George Dagless

Potentially.

If Wilder can get him motivated and get the best out of him he could become a real asset.

He did the same with Leon Clarke and so it would be a potentially good move for the Blades.
